ISSUE #10 FEBRUARY 2012
For those of us that actually had some snow this season (it seems to have skipped much of the USA), winter appears to be winding up! Before the temperature warms is a great time to get those fantastic snowy photos scrapped. There is nothing better than pictures of kids frolicking in the snow. I don't know if it's kids' pent up energy or the cold temperatures outside that make such great snapshots. But if you are anything like me, you have pictures galore of miscellaneous snowman builds, skiing escapades, and fierce snowball fights. This month's newsletter is dedicated to saying goodbye to those fabulously freezing months of winter. Just look at what our amazing designers have for you.

You'll find the following in this issue:

  • "I grew up thinking of snow as a luxury you visit." — John Landis

  Sensational Colors
Winter color schemes don't need to be all frosty. Mixing the icy blues you do associate with winter and a splash of a warm tone you don't, really makes a layout pop. I saw this particular color scheme featured in everything these past months, from 3 year old pajamas to holiday cards. It is really HOT, or COLD, depending on how you want to think about it!

Words from Smiles Design: "Hello fellow iScrapbook fans! As a long time paper scrapbooker, I never imagined I would be designing digital artwork. However, falling in love with the iScrapbook software opened all kinds of new avenues for me. Gone were all the bulky supplies and endless cutting. I couldn't have been happier. I love having a creative outlet in my life. As a crazed mother of 3, with endless music lessons, sports practices, and church activities, I find designing a real panacea. I love mixing photographic images with more traditional elements in my kits for a unique look. I hope you love them and use them again and again." Learn more about Smiles Design

Tips & Tricks
You've added a bunch of embellishments or small photos to your scrapbook page and you want them them evenly spaced and centered along an imaginary horizontal line. How do you do this?

Luckily, iScrapbook makes it easy to evenly space and align objects. Evenly spacing objects is known as "distributing" the objects (distribute horizontally or vertically). Likewise, you align multiple objects along their left edges, horizontal centers, right edges, bottom edges, vertical centers, or top edges.

Suppose you have dragged the following embellishments onto your page:

As you can see, the embellishments are in a pattern, but they're pretty randomly placed. They need to be evenly distributed and aligned so they look good. Here's how:

1) Select all of the objects.

2) Select Arrange at the top of the Smart Inspector.

3) Click the Align Vertical Centers button in the Smart Inspector. The embellishements will instantly align along their vertical centers.

4) Click the Distribute Horizontally button in the Smart Inspector. The embellishments will be evenly spaced.

The alignment and distribution tools are an easier, faster, and more accurate way to arrange your objects than you could do by sight.
