Question What software to buy for PC?

Hi, I'm new here. Was referred by a Mac user, but need help figuring out what software to buy to start doing digital scrapbooking on my PC with XP Operating System. I'm a long time paper scrapbooker, but wanting to switch.

Can somebody offer some advice?

Thanks,
Kara

Hi! Welcome to digital scrapbooking! You will love it. I personally only design for ISCRAPBOOK and mostly use Photoshop Elements for digital scrapbooking. However, when I first started digital scrapbooking, I bought the Memory Mixer Program at my local craft store for 1/2 off and it was the perfect beginners tool for digital scrapbooking. It offers a lot & is very user friendly & easy to understand. My mom, sisters, and friends all love it. The only couple of differences that I wish it had that I know that the ISCRAPBOOK program has are these... 1. You can type in what you are looking for, different categories, etc and it narrows it down for you. Because I have downloaded so many files into Memory Mixer I forget where some of my favorites are & have to search for them. Typing in a key word would be really nice.
2. Any ISCRAPBOOK product that you purchase will easily go into the ISCRAPBOOK program. IN memory mixer you have to manually add in each file, which takes time, but saves problems in the long run.
Hopefully this helps. I have heard that the ISCRAPBOOK program is perfect for Mac users & very user friendly. I"m not sure about PC though since I haven't tried it personally & haven't heard either way. I do love the Memory Mixer on my PC though, and you can still add in all of the products you purchase from ISCRAPBOOK to use as well. Good luck and hopefully this helps.

Hi Kara...welcome to iScrapbook!

I have always used Photoshop for digital scrapbooking and designing and am unaware of all of the different products available for PC users. You may try doing an Internet search on "digital scrapbook software for PC" and see what comes up.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful

Michelle

Hi Kara,

You can get photoshop CS or elements for PC (elements is very user friendly and easy to learn).
There is PSP - which I have heard is harder to grasp.
A few friends of mine who use PC swear by Scrapbook Max - its fairly cheap to purchase and easy to learn I'm told.

Hope that helps.
