Artist Insights
What was your childhood ambition? My childhood ambition was to be a long-haul truck driver so I could travel the United States and get paid for it.

What is your wildest dream? To become a famous photographer and travel the globe, photographing unusual and exotic places.

What time is your alarm clock set to? My alarm clock is set to 6:15 am but my body clock wakes me up at 6:00 am sharp no matter how late I stay up the night before.

What is your idea of a perfect day? Hiking on a crisp and foggy spring or fall morning with my family or spending a weekend camping somewhere remote (preferably in a forest setting).

Where do you get design inspiration? If you want to see the world in a whole new way…become a designer or photographer! Everything becomes a possible subject or idea for a design or a photograph.

What is your favorite indulgence? Steamed crab legs with melted butter.

What is your favorite TV Show? I never miss The Biggest Loser. Other than that, I prefer to watch a movie.

What food do you dislike? Oysters.

What characteristic do you despise? Selfishness.

What is your favorite item of clothing? My soft, fuzzy pajama pants and slippers.

What was your most memorable birthday? They were all memorable in their own way.

Are you a morning or night person? I have always been a night owl but have been forced over the years to become a morning person. I still find myself staying up until the wee hours of the morning on weekends and don’t usually go to bed until after midnight during the week.

What is your favorite iTune? I don’t download music but my favorite bands include Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, and Chicago…just to name a few.

Would you bungee jump? No. I’m not much of a risk taker.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Black Licorice or Peppermint.

What is the first thing you notice about a person? Their facial expression.
  Biography
I am a full-time administrative assistant by day and live with my husband Troy and our three daughters Taylor, Baylee, and Denver. I am an avid photographer and love to spend time outdoors hiking and camping.

I began traditional scrapbooking in 1995 but lost all of my albums when our basement flooded during a home remodel. I discovered digital scrapbooking in 2006 and loved the convenience of it. No more cutting, pasting, storage, or mess. I began designing my own kits in November 2008 with the help of my daughter Taylor. Taylor is a high-school student who is heavily active in art, drama, and music and designs some of the elements used in my kits. She is the "T" in MT Lane Designs.
